Uncle Sam’s and Naima Restaurant to Offer Members VIP Service

by Sam Cook

January 17 was once again a memorable day for Uncle Sam’s List as they entered into yet another business partnership. This time, Uncle Sam has joined up with Naima restaurant for the sake of providing guests with a shelter while they eagerly await VIP nightclub admission. Uncle Sam’s took this initiative after it was established that Uncle Sam’s list attracted almost three thousand visitors to the New York Mansion Nightclub. Essentially, this makes Uncle Sam’s List one of the top ranking guest lists in the city.

It was not by coincidence that Uncle Sam chose Nama’s Restaurant. To the contrary, the owners came from an isle called Capri, just off the Almalfi coast, an area of which Uncle Sam has fond memories. During a stint in the military, Sam had traveled to the region and in so doing; he took a special liking to South Italian food.

It was during the time Sam was originally starting to develop his tours that he stumbled upon this genuine South Italian restaurant. Recently, Sam has negotiated a deal with the owners, which will in turn ensures that any guests of Uncle Sam get drinks at discounted prices while waiting for VIP nightclub admission.

While the average pundit either needs to get to a party early, or hang around outside in the cold until the party gets into swing, those who are customers of Uncle Sam’s List have the honor of enjoying discounted drinks at Nama’s Restaurant, while at the same time they can enjoy authentic south Italian cuisine and once the party going, there’ll be no queues to join.

Travel for Harry Potter Tours

by Charlie Reese

No children’s book series has caught the imagination quite like Harry Potter. The stories have launched an industry in merchandise, games and movies. Fans like to see where the films were shot and several Harry Potter Tours organise guided visits to locations where memorable scenes from the books were brought to the screen. Many famous British landmarks and institutions have played a part in the filming. The challenge for the filmmakers was to find the right location to stand in for the fictitious places of the wizard world.

The British Tours Company runs various tours, offering different durations and permutations. The Oxford and Gloucester Tour takes in some splendid sights and is an interesting history lesson. The prestigious Oxford University was used for many scenes at Hogwarts School, its magnificent architecture of cloisters and archways being perfect for the job. Staircases in the University were featured along with the Great Hall, which was the inspiration for Hogwart’s Dining Room. The University Library served as Hogwart’s Hospital Infirmary.

The Gloucester part of the Harry Potter Tour includes the wonderful Norman Cathedral, which was used in scenes involving ghosts and talking portraits in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the first in the series. The Moaning Myrtle scenes in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and scenes from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince were also shot in Gloucester Cathedral.

Hiking Socks – Essential for Comfort and Health

by Leroy Calstard

Hiking is an activity that requires you to be on your feet the entire time and foot comfort and health is not just about the right hiking boot. You also need to have proper hiking socks. Yes, there is a difference between sport socks and hiking socks – and it’s not aesthetics.

First off, good hiking socks will be thick, sturdy and comfortable to the touch. They will also be longer than most socks; they go beyond the top of your hiking boot. The toe, ankle bone and heel will be extra thick since these parts of the sock get the most wear when hiking. These areas should me smooth and ridge-free since there will be a lot of friction in these places and your foot can develop blisters.

Good hiking socks are made of cotton or wool and usually blended with synthetic fibers. The natural materials will provide warmth in cold weather and allow your feet to “breath” in hot weather. Wicking is also important; wicking means it allows for your sweat to evaporate so moisture is not retained. Preventing moisture is very important since it can cause blisters, chafing and fungal infections.

One hundred percent natural is not the best way to go with hiking socks. Synthetic material is usually blended with natural fibers for another reason – elasticity. You will want your socks to stay up and not slip into your boot and then under your foot. This is not only annoying but can lead to blisters and sores. Check the material label; the amount of Lycra or Nylon is usually 10 to 25 percent.
