Whale Watching – One of the Many Adventures in Cabo San Lucas

by Paul Garnett

Cabo San Lucas is located at the tip of the Baja Peninsula in Mexico where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. With these huge bodies of waters, whales often find Cabo San Lucas a haven. Magdalena Bay in Cabo is a favorite place for whales especially during mating season, which is the best time to go whale watching in Cabo.

Indeed, there are a lot of choices when you are looking for great adventures in Cabo. Many touring companies are also offering whale watching tours in Cabo especially during the months when whales visit Cabo.

This activity is also ideal if you are vacationing with the family and you are bringing along the children. Especially for kids who are still young for some water sports, whale watching could be a great alternative.

Whale watching tours include services in fetching you up in your hotel and sending you off to the marina for a boat ride to the Magdalena Bay – the bay where whales takes shelter in some particular times of the year. This is also where these enormous creatures mate and give birth, so you will be able to see their young during those times.

The excitement of whale watching comes when these huge mammals are spyhopping. This happens when they tend to be ’standing’ in the water, their bodies submerged except their heads, and they tend to observe their surroundings.

Touring companies will be taking care of your transportation back to your hotel after the adventure. This usually is included in their services. If you decide to drop by a good dining place, they can also give you good suggestions where to have a great dinner after the exciting tour.

Whale watching tours can take a lot of your vacation time so it is always wise to plan, prepare and budget your whole vacation time if you plan to experience this amazing whale watching adventure.

Moreover, whale watching can be best enjoyed during the months of January to March where whales are visiting Cabo, so if you are vacationing in those times of the year, it is best to catch this rare opportunity. This could also mean that whale watching at times could not be possible, as it may not be the right time of year when whales appear in Cabo.
