Easy Finding Parking in Laguardia Airport
Don’t avoid parking at Laguardia Airport because you’re frightened of city drivers, traffic or trouble finding a spot.
Don’t give up and spend money on a taxi or limousine, though. There are a lot of parking options at the airport. A few simple tips can make it much easier to find parking there. This airport has a lot of parking choices that the first-time visitor may not know about. Following are a few of them:
The first option is to have someone drive you to the airport; they can park in metered parking. Laguardia Airport has metered parking at Marine Air Terminal. Two hours is the maximum you can park there. This is enough time to get your baggage back and forth from the car.
Daily parking at the Airport includes parking garages and lots, of which there are seven. Each has handicapped spots and there’s at least one located near each major terminal, so this is a good option. You can also leave your car for up to 30 days, but this is more expensive than using the long-term lot. However, they don’t charge more than 30 dollars per 24 hour period, which makes it a bargain to park there compared to New York City parking garages!
Another option for parking at Laguardia Airport New York is long-term parking. There is one such lot for parking at the airport and it’s located pretty much in the center of the airport. There are courtesy buses that run every 10 to 15 minutes between the terminals so if you leave yourself enough time before your flight this is a great option for parking. Laguardia Airport charges $30 for the first day in their long term parking but only $5 per each 8 hour period after that, so this is the best choice if you’re staying longer than 24 hours.
Disabled people have special rates for parking at the airport. In fact, the handicapped rates at the Airport are much less than the normal rates so if you’re traveling with someone with a handicapped tag you can expect to pay far less than the above-referenced prices.
Parking at Laguardia Airport can be paid for with cash, check, or credit card, including American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Diners Club, Carte Blanche and Discover. The airport also accepts EZPass, which is a quick and convenient way to pay for parking.
You can also find private parking garages just outside of Laguardia Airport. (Central Parking has several of these.) Their fees are less than the official parking fees at the Airport, so if you want to pay less this is a good choice. They pick you up and drop you off at the terminal on demand, so you don’t have to worry about being stranded somewhere if you go this route.
With so many choices for parking, leaving your car at Laguardia Airport New York shouldn’t be an intimidating experience. Whether you’re going on a short trip or a long one, and whatever airline you fly, you can find a space for parking at the Airport with little trouble at all.
